Why I do this work
Most of my clinical life has been spent in the hospital.
As a hospitalist, I meet people at the far end of a long arc: the heart attack, the stroke, the fracture, the diabetes that was building quietly for a decade. That care matters. It also comes late.
Over time, I kept noticing where that arc tends to bend. For many women, it bends in midlife. As estrogen falls, cholesterol, blood pressure, insulin sensitivity, bone, muscle, sleep, and mood all shift. Many of these changes are measurable years before they become a diagnosis, and too often they are explained away as stress, or simply getting older.
My research training was in fibromuscular dysplasia and spontaneous coronary artery dissection, two vascular conditions that mostly affect women. That work taught me how much of women's health still sits in the gaps of what we study and teach.
So I trained deliberately for this stage of life. I became a Menopause Society Certified Practitioner, and I have built my focus around prevention: cardiometabolic health, hormone therapy where it fits, strength, sleep, and the habits that protect healthspan.
This site is where I share that work. You will find tools I have built for patients, clear summaries of what the evidence does and does not show, and updates as I build a practice for women in midlife.
